Introduction
Gary Cox (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use Smart Retirement Planner (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to the disclaimers and limitations described below.
About the App
Smart Retirement Planner provides educational retirement planning estimates. The App may include tools such as:
-
Nest Egg — estimate how much you may need for retirement and what to save
-
401(k) Growth — project retirement account growth, including contributions and employer match assumptions you enter
-
Withdrawal Planner — model withdrawals and test whether projected savings may last over time
-
Social Security Bridge — explore funding the period before Social Security or other income begins
All figures, charts, and projections are generated from information you enter and from assumptions built into the App. They are illustrative only.
Important Disclaimers and Limitations
Not professional advice. The App is for educational and informational purposes only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance, or retirement advice. Gary Cox is not a financial advisor, broker, tax professional, attorney, or fiduciary. Nothing in the App creates a professional or advisory relationship.
Estimates only. All results are estimates based on simplified models and the assumptions you enter. Real-world outcomes depend on many factors the App cannot predict, including market performance, inflation, taxes, fees, employment changes, health costs, legislation, and Social Security rules.
No guarantee of accuracy. We do not warrant that any calculation, projection, chart, or summary is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your situation. You are solely responsible for verifying information and for any decisions you make.
Your responsibility. You agree that you use the App at your own risk and that you will consult qualified professionals before making retirement, investment, tax, or other financial decisions.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gary Cox and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App or reliance on its results—even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the App’s optional in-app purchase in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
No warranties. The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Optional In-App Purchase
The App may offer an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks full access to all retirement planners.
-
Each planner may include a limited number of free full preview visits before purchase is required
-
Preview visit counts and purchase status are stored only on your device
-
Purchase prompts are shown by the App itself and can be dismissed
-
If you already purchased full access, you should not be prompted to buy the same unlock again
Apple handles payments. In-app purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your payment card, bank account, or Apple ID credentials. Payment, billing, refunds, and purchase history are handled according to Apple’s terms and policies.
Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for the App.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or share:
-
Your name, email address, or contact details
-
Usage analytics or behavioral advertising profiles
-
Precise location data
-
Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Data on Your Device
The App may store information locally on your device, such as:
-
Planner inputs — ages, savings balances, contribution amounts, withdrawal amounts, income assumptions, inflation and return rates, Social Security estimates, and other values you enter
-
Planner profile — such as your current age and related planning ages used across tools
-
App preferences — such as appearance settings, haptic feedback, and notification preferences
-
Purchase and preview state — such as whether full access is unlocked and how many free preview visits remain for each planner
-
Onboarding state — such as whether you completed the welcome tour
We do not operate servers that store your personal data, and we do not have access to the retirement information you enter.
The App does not sync your planner data to our servers. We do not operate a cloud account for your planner inputs.
Optional Notifications
If you enable notifications in Settings, the App may schedule local reminders on your device. Notifications are optional, are not used for advertising, and can be turned off in the App or in your device’s iOS Settings.
Optional Links to Other Apps
The App may show optional promotional banners for other apps we publish. If you tap a banner, the App may open that app’s App Store page using Apple’s StoreKit. We do not receive your Apple ID from that action, and we do not use those banners for cross-app behavioral advertising.
Third-Party Services
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
The App may interact with Apple-managed services when you:
-
Make or restore an in-app purchase
-
Use StoreKit
-
View this Privacy Policy or Apple’s Standard EULA in an in-app browser
-
Open another app’s App Store page from an optional promotional banner
-
Receive an optional App Store review request (controlled by Apple)
When you open our Privacy Policy link, you may load a web page hosted by our website provider. We do not use that page to track you inside the App.
Data Storage and Security
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Data you enter in the App is stored on your device. We rely on Apple’s device security measures, including protections available through iOS. We do not have access to or control over data stored on your device.
Data Retention and Deletion
We do not retain your personal data on our systems.
You can delete App data by uninstalling the App or, where available, by changing or clearing information within the App. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored planner inputs, preferences, and preview counts from that device, subject to iOS behavior and any device backups you maintain outside our control.
Your Rights and Choices
Because we do not collect your personal information on our systems, we do not maintain a separate file about you. You control App data through the App, your device settings, and your Apple account.
EU/EEA (GDPR): We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not collect personal information from App users for our own databases.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The App is not directed at children and is not designed to collect personal information from anyone. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last Updated” date. For significant changes, we may also show a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
